Enjoy the Open Streets on 50th

We love celebrating our community here at Onyx, and it’s especially warming when that same community spills into our streets. Unless you’re waking from some magical sleep, you’ve likely heard that Open Streets on 50th makes its return this Sunday. It’s a full-family affair, and it’s one of the city’s most popular of the year, drawing Edina residents, friends, and our visitors out in full force. New residents: you got here just in time!

All Sunday afternoon, from 1:00-5:00 PM, the .7 mile stretch of 50th between Wooddale and Chowen will fill with dozens of participating vendors, eateries, and yes, a beer garden, too (located in the Red Cow parking lot). They’ll have events and a bounce house for the kids, Pilates and other workouts for all, and face-to-face time with area businesses and business owners.

If you haven’t visited an Open Streets event in the past, there’s an infectious energy in the air that even our pets can’t resist. Leash up your pup and swing by The Pet Zone MN to score some treats and grooming tips for your furry bestie—maybe you’ll even find him a new friend. They’ll have adoptable, rescue pups there, so venture at risk; you might not be able to resist bringing one of those adorable faces home!

Between the music, dancing, live demos, and more, the playfulness of Open Streets will be tough to resist this Sunday, so why even try? Hop a community cruiser and swing by to check out the fun for yourself!

Area Events & Happenings

If your Saturday’s looking a bit light, you’re in luck because it’s Museum Day Live! and participating Museums across the country will be opening their doors and providing free admission for all. If you’ve had your eye on one or another but haven’t yet carved out the time to visit, there’s no better time than a free one.

Simply search, select your ticket (each is good for two people), and go. Easy as that, you’ll have cost-free inspiration. From galleries to military reenactments, interactive exhibits, and history told from the ruins of the world’s oldest flour mill, Minnesota’s rich with culture. Grab a free pass and get out to see for yourself.
